Famous for it’s bustling nightlife and creative culture, Central Ave is the premiere place for drinks, dates and all things nightlife. Historic Central Ave starts at 2nd Street and just keeps on going. Depending on what you’re looking for, it’s a great way to explore the city and local businesses. Plus every First Friday of the month, Central Ave is closed to vehicle traffic and opened up for a block party style festival featuring live music, dancing, and all the locally crafted beer your heart desires.

Vinoy Park

A leisurely walk from the 801 Conway Project lives Vinoy Park, a beautiful waterside escape from the downtown buzz. With 11 acres of space there’s not much this park can’t offer you on a lovely afternoon. In addition to a great public refuge on a nice afternoon, Vinoy Park is a premiere spot for concerts and festivals like the Van’s Warped Tour, St. Pete Crab & Music Fest and many more. You can check their summer schedule here.

For those interested in the finer arts, Morean Arts Center has an impressive collection of original Chihuly Pieces. A beautiful combination of large scale pieces and fan favorites, this gallery is certainly worth a visit (and just to note: by the time you move in he the gallery will have moved to the corner of 8th and Central Ave!) For glass lovers of all kinds, there’s a number of creative galleries around St. Pete. For instance, the Duncan McClellan Gallery is another great spot in terms of St Pete’s art. Plus they offer public classes and programs for youth education and engagement.

An iconic stop for anyone in town, not only is the museum an amazing collection of prized works by Salvador Dali himself but it is an astounding architectural structure. After you become a huge fan of this place, you can enroll as a member or even take yoga classes at The Dali! There are a number of ways you can experience this museum, with a dynamic selection of programs available you can choose what your visit will focus on.

The 801 Conway Project is close to the vivacious downtown of St. Pete, the local favorite shops, but also these amazing creative resources. Let us know what you’re favorite pieces of the neighborhood are! We love uncovering new gems and sharing them with the 801 community.
